Watercooler Design
Crystal Mountain, a Canadian based manufacturer of water coolers, asked Bigto to design a new cooler to be launched in the USA. Initial sketches were developed in March 2010 with all subsequent development being carried out by Bigto. The requirement was for a technically superior product which was easy to sanitize, was compact in dimensions and which could also be converted to a mains-fed cooler containing a filtration system.
The cooler was constructed from cost effective injection moulded components with all water contact parts being removable for cleaning. The removable cup dispenser allows access to the filters for the mains-fed version and the side panels are easily replaceable, to ensure the product continues to look good. By August all prototype testing and detailed design was finalised and data was released for tooling. Production started in December 2010 followed by a very successful launch in America.
In October 2011, the European annual water industry conference awarded this product first prize in the categories of Design and Innovation.
